At-home Nursing Service

When you come home from hospital, taking care of your stoma can seem daunting. This will get easier with time, and soon you may find that life is enjoyable again.

The Countrywide Nursing service is there to help you adjust to life after surgery and take care of your stoma, by providing advice and support on appropriate product use.

Professional and skilled

Our nurses are highly skilled and qualified professionals who care for people living with a laryngectomy or tracheostomy. Each nurse has an extensive knowledge of neck stoma care and is able to advise on care and products via an Appliance Use Review (AUR). The objective of our nursing team is to improve your quality of life and independence.

This is achieved through advice and support on appropriate product use and by working collaboratively with your hospital team. Our aim is to recognise any issue that may arise and to work with you to find a resolution.

You are visited in the comfort of your own home and the service we offer is confidential, discreet and commissioned by the NHS.

Our nurses continuously update their skills and techniques and regularly participate in clinical audits and reviews of clinical services.

Currently our nursing service is only available in selected areas of the UK. Please contact us to find if our service operates in your area.

Note, our nurses do not provide an emergency response service.

There are many benefits of having a Countrywide Nurse visit you. Some of these could include:

  • Being visited in the comfort of your own home
  • Gaining confidence about how to use your products and look after your stoma
  • Asking questions and overcoming obstacles (such as how to get a good seal with your baseplate)
  • Learning more about how your products can be tailored to different situations (such as what HME to use for different activities)

This service is free for all Countrywide Supplies customers, if you would like a free at home nurse visit register with us today:
